Neutron and Reactor Physics

Scientific experimental and applied investigations are carried out in connection with:

Highly fragmented DE1-DE2-E telescope for charged particles (left) and one of the six boxes with corresponding integrated electronics consisting of 16 preamplifiers and 16 constant fractions (right) ( INRNE - IKP-FC Juelich collaboration)

• Physics of the neutron transport in multiplying and non multiplying media of nuclear reactors, the obtained results together with the numerical modeling are applied for the effective use of the nuclear fuel and the safe operation of the reactor in KNPP
• Generation of libraries of broad groups cross sections for the reactors WWER; three dimensional neutron physics stationary and non stationary analysis of the reactor core in the diffusion approach; determination of the neutron embrittelment of WWER reactor vessels; estimation of the nuclear safety of the facilities for reservation of the burn-up reactor fuel
• Study of the interactions of neutrons with nuclei; measurements of the cross sections of nuclear reactions induced by 14 MeV neutrons; experimental investigations of neutron capture in the resonance region; development and use of the methods based on the reduced and statistical R-matrix for the modeling and analysis of the resonance cross sections in the region of resolved and unresolved resonances; testing and use of the resonance parameters from data libraries ENDF/B, JENDL etc.; analysis of the experimental data and testing of the group constant for the needs of reactor design
• Start-up of the high intensity neutron generator NG-12 for the fundamental and applied needs.
